Founded in 2017, Alium Adaptive Apparel designs and manufactures comfortable clothing for seniors receiving care in institutional settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and hospice. Following scores of conversations with professional and family caregivers to understand the challenges with off-the-rack clothing, company founder Carla Macklin set out to create clothing that works better for both the caregiver and the wearer. Alium's clothing is designed to make it easier for the caregiver to give the best care while allowing the wearer to feel more like themselves.
Sourcing textiles from the highest quality suppliers, Alium Adaptive Apparel manufacturers soft, stretchy, and durable garments in the U.S.A. that hold up to the rigor of institutional use. Alternate openings have been constructed to assist the caregiver with donning and doffing garments while providing modesty to the wearer. Each garment is thoughtfully constructed to address a number of physical issues people face as they age.
We need your help! Over the upcoming months we expect to release additional products that makes navigating the caregiving challenges a bit easier. We'd love it if you would share your stories or suggest what we can create to make things easier for you. Let's collaborate together to make dressing simpler for everyone!
